Year Nine

We have had a good solid start to the year with the students working really well and focusing on their work.

Oliver Harper completed another segment of performance with the ‘Sound of Music’ earlier on this term and we have another talented student in Year 9 managed to secure the main part in the school play. Alex Newman auditioned brilliantly and was justly rewarded with the casting. So good luck to him as rehearsals start in earnest.

The sports teams have all been well supported and have had success in their matches this year.

A Friday club run by Mr Hill is gradually growing in popularity and no doubt will continue to do so as the weather deteriorates! This is an indoor club for anyone who wishes to follow a quiet pastime during one lunchtime a week.

Following the holiday Year 9 will be starting a Careers unit of work under the watchful eye of Mr Hammett. This is in preparation for the important work that will prepare the students for the Options programme that will commence after Christmas.

Harry Bratchel 9V and Rory Ellis 9E are the Year representatives to feedback from the School Council to the year group about issues that the various council groups are concerned with. Congratulations and thanks to Harry and Rory in advance for their contributions. We hope to have regular news item in assemblies from now on.
